I've been having some trouble taming my conure, Henry.  No matter what I try he insists on biting my finger whenever I get to close.  The longest I've gone with out him viciously attempting to bite me is one week.  I try to make every interaction pleasant by giving him millet whenever I go near his cage but I don't think I'm getting through to him.  He's too stubborn for his own good.

Any advice?

Thanks

No one has photos of them I guess :( Or maybe they were just submitted to the feature group instead of the correct one!

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone would be able to help me with something.
First, the info:
I bought a 3month old Yellow Sided Conure (see gallery) about 6ish months ago, which makes him 9months now.
When I bought him, his wings had already been clipped.
I have taken him to the Vet to see if they'd been cut too short and he assured me they hadn't ...

So my question is, how long does/should it take for the primary wing feathers to fall out and grow back? It's been 6 months ... ^^; I'm keen to train him!!

Cheers,
Bri

There is plenty of training you can do even without clipped wings!
The wings grow back (I believe) after they molt so twice a year. You should be able to see if the wing still has a straight clipped look or if it has new feathers grown in and the old cut ones have fallen out!

Oh ok ... Cos I was being told they should grow back about 2-3 months lol ... The wing feather that hadn't been cut haven't fallen out yet either, so I guess I'm being too impatient ;p

Thanks Sharpk :B
